After 63 days, Jamshedpur sees zero COVID-19 deaths

City records 87 positives, 94 recoveries


Jamshedpur, June 11: Friday came as a relief for Jamshedpur as no COVID-19 death was reported in East Singhbhum district. It was after 63 days that Jamshedpur recorded zero COVID-19 deaths. Earlier on April 8 zero deaths were reported in the district.

Jamshedpur also reported 87 positive cases while 94 people recovered of the virus on Friday. 
 Active Covid-19 cases in the district has dropped down to 762 after 94 patients were discharged from hospitals and Covid care centres on Friday.  Of the 762 patients still undergoing treatment for the coronavirus in the district, most are in home isolation, while some are being treated at care centres and hospitals. 

Meanwhile, Jamshedpur reported 87 new cases, which took its overall tally to 51,160.

More than 5000 were tested on the day. Data from the state government’s daily health bulletin showed that the Covid-19 test positivity is 1.66%.The state, too, witnessed a massive fall in infections and fatalities.

The overall death toll in the East Singhbhum  has reached 1044 and the total cases 51160. 

The positivity rate of Covid-19 cases in Jamshedpur is around 1.66 per cent after East Singhbhum conducted over 5000 tests in the last 24 hours. The Steel City tested 5255 samples, of which, 87 turned out positive while 94 people recovered from the Covid-19 on Friday, June 11. The continuous high number of tests have pushed the positivity rate further down to 1.66 per cent, the government data showed.

The recovery rate has climbed to 96.63% while the active cases have come down to 762.

94 positive people recovered of the virus on Thursday pushing the recovery mark to 49354. 


East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 370517 test per million in the district. 

As per the records of health department  out of 5255 people who underwent Covid tests in East Singhbhum 87 were found positive.

Over 5000 COVID-19 tests, including 2570 RT-PCR and 2249 RAT were conducted in the last 24 hours in the city.

The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 96.63% while the mortality rate is 2.04%.

So far in Jamshedpur 992978 samples have been collected out of which 986316 have been tested and 935156 have turned out to be negative.
