No corona deaths reported for third time in 96 days in Jamshedpur

Recovery rate goes beyond 90 per cent in Jharkhand

Jamshedpur, Oct 10: Saturday came as a relief for Jamshedpur as no COVID-19 deaths were recorded in the district. This is the third time in 96 days that not a single person succumbed to the virus. Earlier on October 8, no corona deaths were reported in Jamshedpur.

67 corona positive cases were reported in Jamshedpur on Saturday taking the total tally to 14863.  

Positive tally has climbed to 14,836 while the death toll remains at 333 with no deaths on Saturday. 102 people recovered of the virus taking the total recovery to 12989 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 1514.       

The district administration spokesperson informed that 67 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday. East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 82462 test per million in the district. The mortality rate in East Singhbhum district is 2.2 % while recovery rate is 88%.

The recovery rate among the Coronavirus patients in the state has gone beyond the 90 per cent mark on Saturday despite a total of 697 fresh cases of Covid-19 being detected across Jharkhand due which the overall tally has now reached to 91,951. During the day, 3 deaths were reported 1 each from Ranchi, Dumka and Dhanbad districts after which the overall death count has increased to 784 in the state. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.85 per cent. As per the information provided by the health department, the number of active cases in the state was 8,362 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 82,805. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 784. On Saturday, a maximum number of 270 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 67 in East Singhbhum, 65 in Dhanbad, 46 in Bokaro, and 22 each in Giridih and Gumla districts (top five districts). A total of number of 1,131 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid19 facilities during the day including 391 from Ranchi, 115 from Lohardaga, 102 from East Singhbhum, 59 from Dhanbad and 55 from Hazaribagh. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state, the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 90 per cent mark to currently stand at 90.05 per cent in Jharkhand. So far, in the state 26,20,465 samples have been collected out of which 26,15,470 have been tested and 25,23,519 have turned out to be negative.
