Jamshedpur: The National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur organized an expert talk on “Social Responsibility and Personality Development” to encourage holistic growth among students.
Keynote speaker Dr. Ranjit Prasad emphasized the importance of aligning education with real-life societal needs. He argued that education should go beyond degrees and focus on grassroots problem-solving. Dr. Prasad urged students to engage with villages, farmers, artisans, and small enterprises to better understand local challenges and contribute through technical knowledge.
Dr. Prasad also stressed the significance of staying connected to Indian knowledge traditions and roots. He stated that true progress comes from balancing innovation with cultural grounding. Furthermore, he encouraged the youth to adopt self-reliance and play an active role in nation-building through meaningful contributions.
Dr. Jayendra Kumar and Dr. Naveen Kumar Veldurthi also attended the program. They motivated students to take up social responsibilities and participate actively in community-driven initiatives.
Student coordinator Nirmal Niranjan Patil coordinated the session, which drew enthusiastic participation from a large number of students. The event provided a platform for self-reflection and inspired students toward innovation, responsibility, and overall personality development.
