Jamshedpur: The 15th National Symposium on Ancient Indian Science and Technology concluded at NIT Jamshedpur on Tuesday, marking two days of intense deliberation on the relevance of traditional knowledge in the modern era. The Centre for Indian Knowledge System (IKS) at NIT Jamshedpur and the Bharatiya Paramparik Gyan Vigyan Samaj (BPGVS) jointly organized the event.
The symposium served as a bridge between ancient wisdom and contemporary scientific advancement, drawing academicians, researchers, and experts from across the country.

Holistic Frameworks: Prof. Debi Prasad Mishra (Founder President, BPGVS) and Dr. Om Prakash Pandey explored the Gyan–Vigyan–Pragyan framework, emphasizing its role in achieving holistic development and the success of the “Shikshak Bano Abhiyan.”

Modern Integration: Dr. Sohani Banerjee discussed the cutting-edge intersection of Indian Knowledge Systems with Artificial Intelligence and digital technologies.

Scientific Traditions: K.E.N. Raghavan highlighted the ecological significance of Go-based practices, while Dr. Premlata Devi elaborated on the scientific depth found in ancient texts.

Language and Culture: Prof. Rakesh Sahgal advocated for incorporating Sanskrit into mainstream education, while Chief Guest Dr. Narendra Kumar shared insights on the scientific aspects of Jyotish.
Institutional Leadership
Delivering the welcome address, Prof. Ram Vinay Sharma (Chairperson, IKS and Deputy Director, NIT Jamshedpur) underscored the importance of reviving traditional knowledge for present-day research. Prof. Goutam Sutradhar, Director of NIT Jamshedpur, expressed his gratitude to the participants, noting that such dialogues are essential for a comprehensive educational ecosystem.
The valedictory ceremony saw the participation of senior faculty, including Prof. Prabha Chand, Prof. A.K.L. Srivastava, and Prof. H.L. Yadav. Dr. Jitendra Kumar delivered the formal vote of thanks, acknowledging the organizing team led by Prof. Shailendra Kumar and Dr. Ratnesh Mishra.
