NIT Jamshedpur hosts 5-day workshop on electrical wiring

Jamshedpur, July 7: The Department of Electrical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur is conducting a five-day skill development workshop titled “Electrical Wiring: Domestic and Industrial Applications” from July 7 to 11, 2025.

The workshop aims to equip students with practical knowledge and hands-on experience in both residential and industrial electrical wiring systems. The event was inaugurated by NIT Director Prof. (Dr.) Gautam Sutradhar, who emphasized the importance of practical technical skills in preparing students for real-world industry challenges. “Hands-on learning bridges the gap between academia and the industry,” he said during his address.

Prof. (Dr.) Satish Kumar (Dean, R&C) also encouraged students to move forward with innovation. The workshop is being held under the guidance of Dr. Supriyo Das.

The organizing team includes Dr. Alok Priyadarshi, Dr. Annayo Bhattacharya and Dr. Kundan Kumar, while Dr. Ravi Bhushan and Dr. Shubhanshu Kumar Tiwari coordinated the technical sessions and logistics. Around 58 students, including those from rural areas, Indo Danish Tool Room and Polytechnic institutes, have registered.

PhD scholars and volunteers like Abhishek Kumar Sinha, Ranjan Kumar, Anand Kumar, Amit Aryan, Amit Bharti and second-year student Roshni Kumari played key roles in smooth execution and participant support.

The workshop combines theory with real-world applications, fostering self-reliance and technical readiness among students.
