NIT Jamshedpur to host Annual Alumni Meet from January 28

Jamshedpur, Jan. 19: NIT Jamshedpur is all set to host its Annual Alumni Meet, Grand Homecoming from January 28 to 29.

The officials are all busy chalking out elaborate plans and making initiatives to invite former students from across the globe and honour them. An alumni team has also been formed to help in organizing the grand event. The two-day meet will begin from January 28 and over 350 ex-students are expected to join the meet.

Around 50 foreign based alumni are also expected to grace the event by their presence. Joint director of the IT department, Government of India, Director of the National Mission for clean Ganga and the former DIG of Jharkhand have confirmed to be a part of the event.

Vice presidents of MasterCard and JP Morgan Chase and professors from Hartford University, USA have also committed for the extravaganza. This event will also be hosting the golden jubilee of 1962 batch and the silver jubilee of 1988 batch. Also the 40th batch reunion of 1973 batch has been decided to be held.

The first ever Malli Mastan Babu Scholarship will also be presented to four students who have performed exceeding well in fields of sports, adventure or likewise.

Following the pious notion of Sow Green Go Green, the alumni would be participating in a sapling plantation drive within the institute campus. Interactive brainstorming sessions will also be held where the inquisitive souls of the institute will get a chance to ask questions from the alumni.

A panel discussion involving alumni, professors and the students on the topic �How can alumni contribute towards the betterment of the institute� will also be held. Various clubs and teams of the institute will get a chance to interact with the esteemed guests too.

The preparations are in full swing, everything from invitations to the theme of the party is being decided upon and a carefully detailed plan is being chalked out to make the homecoming a really grand one!

Utmost care is being taken to reach out to maximum number of alumni and to give them a warm welcome to them and make them feel belonged to the institute that nurtured and made them who they are! Invitations are being sent out be it on phone or email or any other form.

The various landmarks have been restored so that the alumni can have a fair share of nostalgia and fun. Then again to give the homecoming a singular taste, the theme of the party is being decided upon and the itinerary is being chalked out.
