NIT Jamshedpur all set to ignite innovation with 3rd Industry–Academia Conclave

Jamshedpur: The city is geared up for a high-voltage intellectual showdown as the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Jamshedpur is prepared to host the 3rd Industry–Academia Conclave (IAC) 2025 on December 12–13, bringing India’s brightest minds from classrooms, boardrooms, and research labs under one roof. The two-day mega event will be inaugurated by Padma Shri social worker Ashok Bhagat in the presence of Director Prof. Goutam Sutradhar and Dean (Research & Consultancy) Prof. Satish Kumar, marking the beginning of a powerful exchange of ideas aimed at reshaping India’s innovation ecosystem.

Designed to close the longstanding gap between academia and industry, IAC 2025 is set to fire up conversations around technology-led growth, entrepreneurship, skill alignment, and national priorities linked to Viksit Bharat 2047. With a sharp focus on bolstering MSME–academia linkages, the conclave will explore new collaborative models for research, supply-chain innovation, and technical assistance to strengthen the country’s manufacturing backbone. Alongside this, NIT Jamshedpur will spotlight its cutting-edge research in metallurgy, digital transformation, and sustainability, opening doors for industry leaders to adopt frontier technologies and co-create solutions for real-world challenges.

In a strong push to modernize engineering education, the event will delve into overhauling academic programmes through joint laboratories, hands-on modules, and new internship designs that bring students closer to industrial needs. The conclave’s entrepreneurship track is expected to draw the loudest buzz as young founders, student innovators, incubators, and funding agencies converge to accelerate the country’s startup momentum.

Backed by a formidable national Advisory Committee featuring directors of IIT Kharagpur, IIT Patna, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, IIT Bhilai, several NITs, and CSIR laboratories—along with corporate leaders from Tata Steel, RSB Global, HLE Glascoat and others—the conclave signals NIT Jamshedpur’s emergence as a national powerhouse for industry–academia collaboration.

A packed agenda awaits participants, with industry-sponsored panel discussions on MSME growth strategies, NEP-driven skill development, and the future of innovation under Viksit Bharat 2047. The national hackathon is set to be a crowd magnet, drawing young tech minds solving challenges in health, pollution, agriculture, digital systems, and education. Schools and colleges will also step into the spotlight with model competitions on Waste-to-Wealth, IoT applications, and a unique category celebrating the Art and Craft of Jharkhand. Adding more spark to the conclave is the Women’s Forum—“Beyond the Glass Ceiling: Women Redefining Leadership”—featuring Padma Shri Sudha Varghese and other influential voices inspiring women to lead the charge in technology and entrepreneurship.
