Jamshedpur : About nine persons including women were injured during a stampede which took place in a Prabhat Pheri (religious morning procession) after a high-tension wire fell near the Anil Sur Path in Uliyan under Kadma police station area on Friday morning.
Those injured were rushed to the emergency ward of the Tata Main Hospital ( TMH) aid. The incident took place when the followers of Bramhanand Shastri were returning in a Prabhat Pheri procession to Brahmolokdham located at Air-base Colony in Kadma. A decorated chariot was following the devotees.
Bharatiya Yugavashishta Bhramhanand Sangh (BYBS) is organising the birth anniversary celebration of the former spiritual head of Kalibari Temple, Brahmanand Shastri and the religious procession was part of the celebration on the concluding day today.
TMH sources said that none of the injured had sustained serious injuries, and they all were released after keeping in observation for three to four hours. The injured had also been administered first-aid. A spokesperson of BYBS said that all those who had sustained minor injuries are safe .
