Islamabad, June 26 (IANS) At least nine people were killed because of a flash flood in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, media reported on Friday.
The flash flood hit Upper Dir district on Thursday, killing three women, five children and a cleric, Dawn online reported.
Heavy rainfall caused a sudden rush of water to the low-lying district, destroying shops, houses and a seminary.
According to locals, the toll could rise as several children and people were unaccounted for.
