Jamshedpur, March 8: Nilanjan Mitra, music teacher at DAV Public School, NIT (Adityapur), won the first prize at the All-India Bhajan Singing Competition for Music Teachers of DAV Public Schools held at Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi. Around 147 music teachers of various DAV Schools throughout India participated in the bhajan competition.
The annual event was organized and hosted by Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha and DAV Central Managing Committee on February 13 and 14.
Kumar Kannan, Carnatic classical music HoD, Delhi University, AK Tiwari, Hindustani classical music HoD, Delhi University, and Sunita Dhar, retired professor and HoD, Hindustani classical music, Delhi University of Music, were the judges for the event.
It was a truly spectacular display of talents of the competing music teachers and the viewers enjoyed program immensely.
At the end of the second day, the winners were awarded by the judges and members of the DAV Managing Committee. Prabodh Mahajan and other members of the sabha awarded the winners with prizes and showered their blessings on them.
Narender Kumar of DAV Public School, Amritsar, was second followed by Shraboni Mandal of DAV Public School, Durgapur, Pankaj Ghoshal, DAV Public School, Bistupur, Ravi Shankar Mishra of DAV Public School, Ara, and Kaustav Apte, DAV Public School, Pune.
