Jamshedpur, Jan 18: Former MD of Adhunik Power, Mahesh Aggarwal, accused of terror funding, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday morning.
Company sources have confirmed this. Sources said that Mahesh Agarwal, was taken into their custody by the NIA officials when he was leaving his residence in Kolkata. The NIA has not given information about where Mahesh Aggarwal has been kept. According to the information, NIA officials are interrogating Mahesh Aggarwal at an unknown place.
It is worth mentioning that in the terror funding case, the court of Chief Justice of Jharkhand High Court Dr Ravi Ranjan and Justice SN Prasad refused to grant any relief to Mahesh Agarwal, former MD of Adhunik Power and transporters Amit Agarwal and Vineet Agarwal on Tuesday. was rejected. After the completion of the arguments in this case, the Jharkhand High Court had reserved the decision, the court also quashed all the old stay orders, ending the period of interim relief of the three accused. It was only after this order of the High Court that the possibility was being raised that the arrest of the three could happen at any time.
All three are accused of funding militant organizations in the Magadha Amrapali Project. The NIA has registered an FIR against them. Earlier, during the hearing, told the court on behalf of the applicants that they have no involvement in the whole matter. At the same time, accused Sudesh Kedia got bail from the Supreme Court in the same case. The Supreme Court has accepted that prima facie case against him is not made out, but the trial will go on. Let us inform that there have been many serious allegations against the companies working for coal loading and mining in Magadha and Amrapali projects, including providing financial help to the militant organization TPC.
