NHRC secretary visits schools and anganbari centres

Potka: The secretary of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Dr Vinod Agrawal visited several schools and anganbari centres in Jamshedpur and Potka blocks on Wednesday. He visited Nandup Middle School and anganbari centre, Girilata Middle School, Pavru Upgraded Middle School and Juri anganbari centre.
During inspection, he examined the kitchen room in the schools offering midday meals to the pupils and sought updates on the presence of students, their vaccination status, physical and academic progress and the number of dropout children.
Agrawal stressed on giving nutritious food to the children. He said the government was keen on reducing the number of dropout children to zero. He said the officials concerned should constantly monitor the attendance and physical development of children. He expressed happiness over the presence of 20 children at Juri anganbari centre.
