Jamshedpur, Dec 19: Class XI students of Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) visited Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on December 18, 2025, to study the handling and management of biomedical waste. The educational visit aimed to help students understand the types of biomedical waste generated in hospitals and the methods used for its segregation, treatment, and safe disposal.
During the visit, hospital officials explained the safety measures followed to prevent health hazards and protect the environment. The students observed how biomedical waste is systematically managed to reduce the risk of infection and environmental pollution. The exposure also helped them gain awareness about hazardous waste disposal and its importance in public health.
The visit was organised by Biology Head of Department Manju Verma. School Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury said that knowledge of biomedical waste management is essential to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and safeguard the environment.
