Adityapur: Residents of MIG Adityapur-2, near the NIT campus, have written to Seraikela-Kharsawan Deputy Commissioner Nitish Kumar Singh appreciating the district administration for removing footpath encroachments along the stretch from Radio Station to the NIT gate. In a letter sent on December 18, the residents said the initiative has brought much-needed relief to pedestrians, especially senior citizens.
The residents noted that despite approaching several authorities in the past, no concrete action had been taken earlier. They acknowledged that the recent drive helped clear blind curves and accident-prone spots, where mishaps reportedly occur almost every month.
While expressing gratitude, the residents urged the Deputy Commissioner to issue instructions for regular maintenance of the cleared areas, particularly at turning points, inside the colony, and along footpaths. They also pointed out that lack of cleaning and upkeep by the municipal body could lead to renewed encroachment.
The residents further expressed their desire to personally meet the Deputy Commissioner to thank him for the timely action.
