NHES: PSLV- C37 model steals the show at I-Day

Jamshedpur, Aug 17: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) celebrated 75th Independence Day with gaiety. The National Flag was hoisted in the school premises to mark the occasion. Students from Nursery to Std XII participated in different events held on virtual platform to celebrate the special day.

The celebration was a message to the students to take pride in being an Indian and pay homage to stalwarts like Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh and other brave souls.

Chudi Agarwal (12E) gave the introductory speech, emphasizing on students’ role as good citizens. This was followed by recitation of Vedic shlokas by Laxmi Mahato(5A), Arpit Kumar (5C) and Aradhya Kumari (4C). The school choir touched the heart of the listeners with the song “Mein Rahoon Ya Na Rahoon “, which was a mix in five languages- Hindi, Malayalam, Gujarati, Bengali and Punjabi.

The Nursery students represented the National Symbols, while Ukg students displayed craft work based on the same theme. Lkg students took part in a fancy dress show to commemorate the “freedom fighters” of India.

Prakriti Khurana (1D) recited a poem in English on progress of India and Anvi Singh (1A) recited a Hindi poem, “Tiranga”. Std 2 and 3 students took part in a quiz contest. The winners were Team A comprising Aarohi Mandal (2A) and Tejaswi Shaw (3D).

Students of Std 4 narrated inspirational stories of great personalities of India who contributed to the progress of the country. Chiranjivi Bharadwaj (4C) spoke about the contributions of JN Tata, Anvesha Ghosh (4B) highlighted the achievements of fighter pilot, Avani Chaturvedi and Tiasha Hore (4A) paid homage to the former President APJ Abdul Kalam.

A model-making competition was held for the students of Std 5. They made models on remarkable scientific achievements of India in the past 50 years. The model PSLV- C37 made by Arman Ayush (5D) stole the show.

Not forgetting the pandemic situation, an awareness drive was carried out by the Jyoti Club of the school. Masks were distributed among 40 students of Std 11 and 12 at Kagalnagar Seva Sadan. Masks made by students were also distributed among the sub-staff of the school.
