Jamshedpur: Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) marked National Education Day on November 11, with a vibrant celebration honoring Maulana Abul Kalam Azad’s contributions to India’s education system and highlighting the importance of education in national progress.
The event began with a ceremonial lamp-lighting, followed by a series of impactful speeches from students. Ayush Agiwal of Class 6C spoke on the importance of literacy for all Indians, while Tanisha of Class 9B delivered a speech by the Dalai Lama on world peace. Riya Barik of Class 9A recited a powerful speech by Malala Yousafzai on global education. Aditi Singh of Class 10B addressed the United Nations Global Principles for information integrity, and Sufiya Khan of Class 7A presented a speech in Hindi on Vishva Diwas (World Day). Sumaira Amjad of Class 5D recited a Hindi poem titled ‘Vishwa Mein Shanti Phailao’ (Spread Peace in the World), while Rishita Chakraborty of Class 4B recited ‘Ode to Peace’ and Yashaswini Jash of Class 5B performed Michelle Sam’s poem ‘Serenity and Peace’.
Adding to the day’s celebration, the school band performed classic songs promoting peace and unity, including Bob Dylan’s ‘Blowing in the Wind’, John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’, and Elvis Presley’s ‘If I Can Dream’.
The event, conducted under the guidance of Principal Paramita Roy Chaudhury, was attended by Nakul Kamani, President of the School Managing Committee, Devang Gandhi, Joint Secretary, and Chandrakant Zatakia, Treasurer. The guests praised the students’ performances and expressed appreciation for the thoughtful and well-organized program.
