Newly-Married Woman Found Dead in Jharkhand; Husband and In-Laws Abscond

Koderma (IANS): Officials reported on Friday that a newly married woman died under suspicious circumstances in Jharkhand’s Koderma district. Her family members have accused her husband and in-laws of murder.

The incident occurred in Bagro village under the Domchanch police station limits. Authorities identified the deceased as 22-year-old Kajal Khatun, who married Ayan Ansari around two months ago.

Following the incident, Kajal’s husband and her in-laws fled the scene. Her parents staged a protest at the spot, alleging that the family had killed her.

According to police, Kajal’s husband called her family on Friday morning to inform them that she had suddenly fallen ill. Upon receiving the news, her family members rushed to her matrimonial home. They found her lying dead on a bed in an empty house; no one from the household was at the scene.

After receiving the report, a team from the Domchanch police station reached the spot and began an investigation. The police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The victim’s family alleged that Ansari and his family had harassed Kajal ever since the marriage, and they accused the in-laws of killing her. Koderma SDPO Pramod Keshari also visited the spot, spoke to the victim’s family members, and assured them of a fair probe and justice.

Police officials stated that they will know the exact cause of death only after they receive the post-mortem report. They added that they are searching for the absconding husband and his family members.

Tension has gripped the village and nearby areas in the wake of the incident, while police maintain that they are probing all angles.
