New fuel rules imposed in Jamshedpur, Rs 3000 petrol purchase limit introduced

Jamshedpur: Petroleum companies have implemented new restrictions on fuel sales at petrol pumps to prevent black marketing and ensure fair distribution. Under the revised guidelines, customers will not be allowed to purchase more than 300 litres of diesel or petrol worth over ₹3000 in a single transaction in Jamshedpur.

The move comes as authorities intensify monitoring across petrol pumps, with inspection drives being carried out to ensure compliance. Officials stated that the step is aimed at maintaining supply balance and preventing misuse during periods of high demand.

At the same time, the city is witnessing a shortage of LPG cylinders, with nearly 48,785 consumers waiting for delivery. Supply officials have indicated that it may take some time for the situation to normalize due to ongoing supply constraints.

Authorities have assured that strict action is being taken against any irregularities in fuel distribution. While the new cap is expected to streamline availability, residents and commercial users may continue to face temporary inconvenience until supply conditions improve.
