Neptune House Crowned Overall Champion at St. John’s School Jamshedpur Sports Day

Jamshedpur, December 4: St. John’s High School, Jamshedpur, celebrated its Annual Sports Day with great enthusiasm and spirited participation on Thursday. The event, marked by exciting competitions and energetic performances, witnessed the presence of chief guest Sister Hilda D’Souza, Principal of LFS, special guest  G. Francis, and was graced by Principal  Ashu Tiwary and Vice-Principal  P. Ravi, whose presence inspired the students. The ceremony began with a welcome band, the national anthem, and a welcome address, followed by a symbolic tree-planting ceremony promoting environmental protection. The flag hoisting, march-past, torch lighting, and oath-taking ceremony reflected discipline, unity, and the spirit of sportsmanship. In her address, Chief Guest Sister Hilda D’Souza emphasized that sports cultivate perseverance, concentration, and excellence, and officially declared the Sports Meet 2025 open. Principal  Ashu Tiwary highlighted the importance of sports and co-curricular activities in shaping balanced personalities and thanked TFA for its support in making the event successful and well-organized.

The cultural and sports presentations featured vibrant performances, including the pre-primary opening drill “Wings of Freedom”, colourful drills by Classes III, IV, and V, and a powerful high school drill titled “Stretch Your Limits”. Exciting events for junior and pre-primary sections saw winners such as Shifatafsha (N), Rashin Haq (J), and Umaira Usman (M) in Class III Girls Badminton; Muazzam Gaddi (N), Mananjaneet Mahato (J), and Mohammad Zaan (J) in the Class III Kangaroo Race (Boys); and in Nursery Jungle Jamboree, winners included Ayat Fidduse and Suman among girls, and Mohammad Rayan and Mohammad Antaram among boys. The LKG Superhero Sprint saw Ayat Sheikh, Mubashra Sahebaz, and Anobiya Hasan emerge winners, while Class II Picking of the Objective was won by Nabita Hamid (N), Sadaf Fatima, and Irsha Firdous among girls, and Mayank Kumar Mandal, Mohammad Faizal, and Mohammad Ahaan among boys. In the HKG Mini Obstacle Race, the winners were Sharvi Sharma, Tayyaba Nazil, and Afia Parveen among girls, and Mohammad Faizan, Anayan Raqi, and Maheer KT Razak among boys. Class I Balancing the Ball Race saw Rida Fatima (N), Rachi Kumari (N), and Pratiksha (J) win among girls, while Mohammad Ahaan (J), Mohammad Sajeeb Raza (N), and Danyal Alam (M) led among boys.

Among high school competitions, the 100 metre race for Classes X and XI was won by Hamza Alam (N), followed by Misbail Haq (M) and Farhan Khan (M). The band competition winners included Abdul Saud Khan (I), Abdul Saad Khan (2), and Abdul Aziz (3). In the relay races, Neptune House achieved first place in the Boys Relay (Grades 7 and 8), followed by Jupiter and Mars, and again secured the first position in the Boys/Girls Relay for Grades 8 to 10, followed by Mars and Venus. In the Girls Relay (Grades 7 and 8), Mars stood first, followed by Jupiter and Venus. Venus House won the March-Past Trophy, and the Overall Championship trophy was lifted by Neptune House.
