Jamshedpur, Dec 13: Hill Top School celebrated its 43rd Annual Athletic Meet on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium with great enthusiasm and sporting fervour. Organised as part of the school’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, the event revolved around the inspiring theme, “Golden Spirit! Infinite Grit!”, highlighting perseverance, teamwork and excellence.
The sports meet began with a grand ceremonial opening, including the welcoming of the Chief Guest, Gurmeet Singh Rao, Director of the Naval Tata Hockey Academy. A disciplined march past, exchange of flags and oath-taking ceremony by the newly elected captains, vice captains and participating athletes set a dignified tone for the day.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Uma Tiwary stressed the importance of sportsmanship, resilience and lifelong fitness. She praised students for displaying enthusiasm and determination, noting that the values learned on the field shape character beyond academics.
The programme featured impressive field displays showcasing coordination and creativity. Highlights included the colourful umbrella drill “Parsol Power” by Classes 3 and 4, an energetic bamboo dance by students aged 8 to 11, a powerful boys’ drill titled “Dream Big Fly High: Golden Edition,” and the graceful girls’ drill “Dreamer’s Canvas.” Fun-filled races for Nursery to Class 2 students and finals of various track and field events added excitement.
Students from partner institution Gopa Bandhu School also participated, strengthening bonds of camaraderie. As part of the Golden Jubilee year, the school had earlier organised a marathon for students and a walkathon for teachers on November 15.
In the prize distribution ceremony, Aditya Kumar, Surya Karmakar, Aarav Thakur and Yuvraj Singh were named Best Athletes in the boys’ A, B, C and D divisions respectively, while Saniya Gorai, Aashita, Tithi Biswas and Aradhya Gupta bagged the top honours in the girls’ categories. Ashoka House won the Most Disciplined House and March Past awards, while Nehru House was declared the Best House overall.
