Jamshedpur: The district administration has locked down a comprehensive security net for the upcoming NEET UG 2026, deploying magistrates and police forces across eight key venues to ensure a malpractice-free environment. Every examination centre is slated to be sanitized and sealed a day before the 4,200 candidates arrive.
To maintain the integrity of the national-level test, officials have mandated strict manual frisking and full-process videography at every entry point and examination hall. By restricting invigilation duties exclusively to government employees and enforcing a rigorous 1:30 PM entry cutoff, the administration aims to eliminate any window for irregularity, prioritizing a transparent and orderly experience for all medical aspirants.
Deputy Commissioner Rajiv Ranjan chaired a high-level review meeting at the district collectorate on Monday to finalize arrangements for the NEET UG 2026, scheduled for May 3. Officials from the police, transport, health, and education departments attended the session to ensure a peaceful and transparent examination process.
Comprehensive Infrastructure and Entry Protocols
The district has established eight examination centres across six major institutions to accommodate 4,231 candidates. The designated venues include:
- Lal Bahadur Shastri Memorial (LBSM) College
- Jamshedpur Co-operative College
- Jamshedpur Women’s University
- The Graduate School College for Women
- Rajkiya Adivasi High School (Sitaramdera)
The examination will commence at 2:00 PM. Authorities will permit candidate entry strictly between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM, after which they will seal the gates.
Strict Monitoring and Security Measures
Ranjan directed the deployment of magistrates and police personnel at all venues to manage crowds and regulate traffic. To eliminate malpractice, the administration will implement the following:
- Mandatory Frisking: Security teams will conduct thorough checks on all candidates at entry points.
- Videography: Officials will record the entire examination process to maintain total transparency.
- Verified Invigilation: In compliance with National Testing Agency (NTA) guidelines, the administration will appoint only government employees as invigilators.
Facility Readiness
The district administration has instructed relevant departments to ensure uninterrupted electricity, clean drinking water, and sanitized restrooms at every centre. All venues will undergo sanitization and a security seal a day before the exam. Ranjan emphasized that departments must complete all preparations within the stipulated timeframe and warned against any negligence during the process.
