NEET paper leak case: CBI arrests journalist in Jharkhand

Ranchi, June 29: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as part of it action in the NEET paper leak case arrested another person from Hazaribagh in Jharkhand.

The police had taken the journalist into custody on Friday itself and started questioning him.

According to them, Jamaluddin Ansari, a journalist with a Hindi newspaper, was arrested on Friday for allegedly trying to help the principal and vice principal of a Hazaribagh school, both of whom are accused in the paper leak case.

This is the third arrest made by the CBI from Jharkhand in the NEET paper leak case. The name of the arrested person is Jamaluddin. Earlier, the CBI team had arrested the principal and vice principal of Oasis School in Hazaribagh. Two people have also been arrested from Patna. The NEET paper leak is linked to different parts of the country. CBI teams are investigating in Jharkhand, Bihar as well as Gujarat.

Oasis School principal Ehsanul Haque and vice principal Imtiaz Alam were medically examined on Saturday. According to CBI sources, a local person from Hazaribagh will also be medically examined. Imtiaz Alam was also the city coordinator for the NEET exam. The principal and vice principal were arrested by the CBI on Friday (June 28). Along with this, a local person was also taken into custody and interrogation was started. He was arrested today.

In the NEET-UG 2024 paper leak case, the CBI team on Friday questioned six people at the CCL guest house in Charhi, Hazaribagh district. At 4 pm, three people were taken with them to Patna in two different cars. The people whom the CBI team took to Patna include the city coordinator of NTA and the center superintendent and one person.
