Jamshedpur, May 26: In view of the cyclonic storm Yaas, three teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF ) from Bihar reached steel city on Tuesday for carrying out rescue and relief operations.
The three teams of NDRF, each team comprising 24 members were called for Kolhan districts – East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan which falls in southern Jharkhand is likely to face the maximum fury of the cyclonic storm. On Wednesday, the teams convened a meeting with the district administration of Seraikela and Kharsawan. Seraikela is the epicenter of the cyclone. The team gave important instructions to the civic bodies.
According to IMD’s forecast the cyclonic storm would approach Jharkhand from the south eastern part ( East Singhbhum ) as a severe cyclonic storm around 11.30 pm of Wednesday ( May 26 ) night and gradually reach Khunti district with a decreased intensity as deep depression by the night of Thursday, May 27.
