Jamshedpur, August 21: The 37th Jharkhand battalion of the National Cadet Corps (NCC) organised the national games selection inauguration programme.
The event was held at Co-operative College and saw Dr. R.P.P. Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Kolhan University (KU) and Ranchi NCC Commander Brigadier Sunil Gupta as the Chief Guests.
Soon a parade followed that was participated by over 500 cadets from across the state. The cadets performed a salute march.
The camp will look forward for the trials of 114 candidates who would be selected for the national games in various sports like-football, hockey, kho-kho, kabaddi and athletics.
The selected candidates will participate in the national games to be held at Delhi on October 2. Commandant Col. Kishore Singh welcomed the guests and the cadets with a welcome speech. The event was coordinated by Capt. Dr. R.K. Chowdhary.
Co-operative college principal Dr. S.S. Razi addressed the participants. In his speech Dr. Singh of KU shared the importance of discipline in one’s life. He also demanded the Tata College and Women’s College to induct NCC.
