Jamshedpur: Jharkhand Vikas Morcha candidate for the Lok Sabha polls at Jamshedpur Dr Ajay Kumar faces threat of Naxalite attack to his life. The threat is being perceived after the recovery of a five kilogram heavy can bomb from Maheshduba village of Ghatsila block on Wednesday.
Sources said the MP was planning to visit the said village for election campaign. The programme of the MP had been chalked out a week back.
In view of the threat, JVM leader Abhay Singh today demanded protection for the MP who was busy in election campaign in Jamshedpur constituency, especially the Naxalite-hit areas in Ghatsila sub division.
The recovery of the can bomb exposes serious threat looming on the MP. There is only one route to Maheshduba where the Naxalites had planted the improvised explosive device unearthed by the police. It appears that the Naxalites had planned some major attack plan in the said village. Hence the district administration should take it seriously and provide adequate security to the MP, said Abhay Singh on Wednesday.
Abhay Singh said the can bomb was recovered by local police with the help of villagers. He said the JVM candidate should be provide additional number of armed guards for round the clock security during election campaign. He said the administration should provide security wherever demanded by the JVM candidate. He said helicopters will be used for the candidate wherever possible.
Abhay Singh later criticized BJP MLA from Jamshedpur East Raghuvar Das for using a derogatory term of address for Dr Ajay Kumar during a public meeting at Aam Bagan, Sakchi, this morning. He said the BJP leaders were disappointed much before their imminent defeat in the Lok Sabha election.
The JVM leader said All Jharkhand Students Union had not fielded any candidate from Jamshedpur due to its pre-poll pact with the BJP. He said Dr Ajay had complained against an NGO of AJSU to the Intelligence Bureau and other government investigation agencies. A probe is on against AJSUs NGO. Hence the NGO has been banned, said the JVM leader.
