Garhwa: The Garhwa police in Jharkhand have recovered the body of Naxalite Chhote Lal Yadav from a forest here. A rope was tied around his neck.
Chhote Lal Yadav was the area commander of the banned Naxalite outfit Jharkhand Janmukti Parishad and had more than a dozen cases registered against him in different police station areas of Palamu and Garhwa districts of Jharkhand.
It was told that the women who went to pick wood in Bhanwaraha forest under Meral police station of Garhwa district saw the dead body of a person and reported it to the police. After this, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. There are marks of rope tied on his neck. This suggests that he was killed in a battle for supremacy.
After the post-mortem, the police have handed over his body to his family. 40-year-old Chhote Lal was a resident of Dol village under Chinia police station of Garhwa district. A few days ago, Ganesh Lohra and Santosh Yadav, the Naxalites who carried Rs 5 lakh reward on their heads were shot dead in Palamu’s Panki police station area. The names of Chhotelal Yadav and Tunesh Uraon were revealed in this murder case.
After killing Ganesh and Santosh, Chhotelal Yadav and Tunesh Uraon fled to Garhwa area with several modern weapons including AK-47. It is said that Chhotelal wanted to establish a new organization in the border area of Garhwa and Palamu.
