Jamshedpur, Dec 2: The Annual General Meeting of Punjabi Samaj was held on Sunday, December 1 at Arya Samaj in Tapti Road, Sakchi.
Mohal Malan, as the Master of Ceremony, conducted the meeting while working President Om Prakash Jaggi welcomed the senior members including Raghunath Seth, Prem Sehgal and appreciated their contribution towards Punjabi Samaj for the past decades. He made their achievements counts in the various fields.
Treasurer Ravikant Bhalla, presented the annual report for the year ending March 2013 which was unanimously approved and passed. Secretary of the samaj Rajender Sachdev gave the report on achievements of Punjabi Samaj which included running of the Lajpat School and the school at Patamda.
Sachdeva also announced the different social gatherings like the successful organising of the annual picnic, Punjabi milan, etc. Sisir Panja spoke about the Patamda School. Vice President Yogesh Malhotra introduced Raghunath Seth and spoke of his achievements and contribution to the society .
Raghunath Seth was honoured on the occasion by the President Navtej Shangari. Malhan announced open house session during which Mr.Chawla suggested using the Golmori property for marriages and other functions. The proposal was well accepted.
Gian Taneja introduced the founder Prem Seghal and spoke of his achievements to the society at large. The founder Prem Seghal spoke about how the Samaj was started in 1972.
He added with details of major member contributors. Prem Seghal dissolved the ad -hock committee formed four months ago, since there was no election held in the past few years.
Prem Seghal and Raghunath Seth announced the new committee for election and the names were as follows:
President � Navtej Shangari, Working President � Omm Prakash Jaggi, Vice President � Yogesh Malhotra, General Secretary � Rajender Sachdev, Assistant Secretary � Sanjeev Seghal, Treasurer- Ravikant Bhalla, Assistant Treasurer- K.L. Gandhi, Co-ordinator- Mohan Malan, Patrons- Gian Taneja,P.C. Mediratta, Ramesh Johar. The house unanimously elected the committee on the occasion.
