Naval Tata Hockey Academy Jamshedpur unveils 2nd world-class hockey turf and telecast-level floodlights in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, April 28, 2025: In a momentous ceremony held today at the Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), a new era of sporting excellence was ushered in with the inauguration of a second state-of-the-art hockey turf and telecast-level floodlights.

The event was graced by Chanakya Chaudhary, Vice-President Corporate Services, Tata Steel and Chairman, Hockey Ace Foundation as the Chief Guest.

The addition of Telecast-Level Floodlights—equipped with app-based software operation—marks another leap towards global standards. Designed to meet the highest broadcast requirements, these lights will ensure every match is televised with unmatched clarity and vibrancy, amplifying the reach of the Academy’s talent across national and international platforms.

Naval Tata Hockey Academy set up its first Hockey Turf in 2017 where as the hostel academy in 2021. Since then it has rapidly risen to national prominence, nurturing young athletes who have gone on to earn accolades at state and national levels.

The Academy’s relentless pursuit of excellence is backed by world-class infrastructure, elite coaching, and an ethos of holistic development. The newly inaugurated hockey turf, crafted to international specifications, is set to elevate the training environment significantly.

It promises to enhance player performances, and simulate global match conditions, preparing cadets for the highest levels of competition. With this expansion, and the world-class facilities now at hand, NTHA is not only prepared to continue hosting national tournaments but is also ambitiously stepping forward to host international matches in the near future.
