National Wellness Month: ‘Jeevan’ Jamshedpur calls for mental wellbeing

Jamshedpur: As National Wellness Month unfolds, Jamshedpur suicide prevention centre, ‘Jeevan’ has issued a strong call for prioritising mental wellbeing alongside physical health. The organisation urges citizens to embrace self-care, manage stress, and build healthy habits throughout August.

‘Jeevan’ emphasised that wellness isn’t just about fitness, but also about emotional resilience and inner peace. Citizens are encouraged to adopt simple practices—such as regular sleep, balanced diets, physical activity, and open conversations—as part of a sustainable mental health routine.

“Caring for your mind is as important as caring for your body,” said a ‘Jeevan’ representative, urging people to seek help when needed and reduce stigma around mental health.

The centre, which continues to offer free and confidential emotional support to individuals in distress, is also highlighting the need to break the stigma around mental health. “Asking for help is a sign of strength,” the spokesperson added.

Jeevan’s trained volunteers are available through its confidential free helpline services at 9297777499 and 9297777500. In-person befriending is also being offered at Jeevan Kendra, 25 Q Road, Bistupur, Jamshedpur.
