Jamshedpur: The Department of Biotechnology at Jamshedpur Women’s University (JWU) kicked off a two-day event to mark National Science Day 2026. Held on February 27th and 28th, the event is designed to foster scientific temper, innovation, and critical thinking among students.
Dr. Vishwa Raj Lal and Dr. Mamta Kumari are coordinating the program.
Day 1: Intellectual Face-offs
The first day of the celebration saw high levels of engagement among students from all semesters in the Biotechnology Department.
- Quiz Competition: Held in the morning session, the quiz tested students’ core scientific knowledge. It was judged by Dr. Madanjeet and Dr. Ritesh Thakur.
- Debate Competition: The afternoon session featured spirited debates on contemporary scientific issues. The panel of judges included Dr. Shweta Prasad, Dr. Keya Bannerjee, and Dr. Bharti Varshney.
Day 2: Creativity and Innovation
The celebrations continue today, February 28th, with a focus on visual and technical presentations:
- Model Presentation: Students will showcase working scientific models.
- Poster Competition: A display of research and creative scientific concepts.
