National meet on Environmental Challenges at NML from today

Jamshedpur, Nov. 4: Nature, Jamshedpur, in association with CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory, IIM, Jamshedpur, Tata Steel and Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) will organise a two-day �National Conference on Environmental Challenges and Solutions� (NC-ECS 2015) on November 5-6 at CSIR-NML campus here.

More than 110 delegates are participating in the conference from various industry, institutions and universities.

Dr. Dev Dutt Sharma, chairman, Pollution Control Board, Jharkhand, has agreed to be the chief guest of the inaugural function on November 5. This conference is expected to provide a platform and opportunity to discuss and exchange technical thoughts and ideas among experts from various parts of the nations on the environmental challenges and solutions.

According to a press release issued by the organizer of the conference, exploitation of natural resources leads to the deterioration and degradation of the environment. Natural water resources are polluted by discharge of toxic effluents and air is polluted by discharge of various poisonous gases; all these things disturb the whole ecosystem where all the species on the earth live, breathe, eat etc. In this condition, survival of many lives in the ecosystem is difficult, which can leads to a major �balance� problem in biosphere.

This scenario becomes more challenging day by day, which needs the attention of researchers, practitioners and educators from different disciplines such as industries, R&D and academia on a common platform to find the solution of these arising problems.

The conference will cover the discussion on the utilization of natural resources in a sustainable manner, current scenario of ecosystem, different aspects for the remediation of pollution problems and the application of bio products in agriculture.

The two-day conference will comprise plenary lectures, invited talks and oral presentations to finding new approaches, taking new steps and to reach a solution for the a safe and clean environment.
