Jamshedpur, April 19: With obesity on the rise in India, it has become a matter of concern for parents and schools. According to a survey, about 17 million children will become obese in India by 2025, second only to America. As a step to curb this problem, Narbheram Hansraj English School (NHES) invited the Rotary Club of Jamshedpur to conduct health awareness programme to promote healthy lifestyle among students.

Students of Std 8 and 9 attended the awareness programme. Dr. Soma Mukherjee Ghosh (Gold Medalist from Manipal Academy of Higher Education and practice leader of steel city’s Dental Zone) was the guest speaker. She guided students on how to lead a healthy lifestyle for physical and mental fitness and informed that individuals who practice healthy lifestyle behaviors in the early stage of life can withstand health risks in later life. It was well appreciated by the school Principal, Paramita Roy Chaudhary and the students of the school.
