Namya Smile Foundation to aid cancer patient’s treatment

Ghatshila, Oct 26: Tumandungri resident, 13 year old Ritika Behera is undergoing treatment for cancer since the last four years. But insufficient family funds have become a hurdle. Her father, Jeevan Behera’s meager income has been a stumbling block. According to Jeevan, the doctors have prescribed certain tests for Ritika but, in spite of his best efforts, he has not been able to put together the money required for the tests that added up to Rs 1,700. Jeevan informed of the family’s predicament to social worker Kamal Das who immediately contacted Namya Smile Foundation founder Kunal Sarangi who, along with the organizing team met the ailing Ritika Bera and her father Jeevan at their Tumandungri home on Wednesday and took details pertaining to the girl’s treatment. Kunal and the other members of Namya Smile Foundation team assured that Ritika’s treatment costs would be met by the organization. The Behera family expressed its gratitude to Kunal Sarangi and the Foundation members for coming forward to help the child in her fight against cancer. Others present on the occasion included former Zila Parishad member Purnima Karmakar ,social worker Kamal Das, Ganesh Jena, Kartik Lenka, Krishna Das, Karthik Das and others.
