
Tata Workers� Union’s centenary year celebration
Jamshedpur, Oct. 30: Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Executive Director, Tata Sons will attend 25th Michael John Memorial Lecture organised by Tata Workers Union at Michael John Auditorium in Bistupur on Thursday, October 31.
Chandrasekaran will deliver the keynote Michael John Memorial Lecture on �Developing Human Capital � Key to Success.�

Tata Workers� Union (TWU) is celebrating its centenary year. TWU this year has decided to honour N Chandrasekaran with the 25th Michael John Memorial Lecture Gold Medal award. The programme is scheduled to begin at 10.30 am on October 31. Local Chhau artistes will welcome N Chandrasekaran and Tata Steel MD and CEO TV Narendran in the union premises. At the function renovated VG Gopal Heritage will be inaugurated. The guests will also release a Coffee table book during the event. TV Narendran will be present as the chief guest while Rajendra Singh, national general secretary of INTUC will be the guest of honour at the event. Also present on the dais will be Tata Workers Union President R Ravi Prasad, deputy president Arvind Pandey, general secretary Satish Kumar Singh along with Michael John centre chairman Jaydev Upadhyay.

An eight minute short film depicting the 100 years history of Tata Workers Union will be screened at the venue.
TWU general secretary Satish Kumar Singh will present detailed report on the activities of Michael John centre after which TV Narendran and Rajendra Singh will address the gathering.
Later during the event TV Narendran will honour N Chandrasekaran with the Michael John Memorial Lecture Gold Medal award. Chandrasekaran will address the Tata Steel officers and TWU committee members.
Tata Workers� Union President R Ravi Prasad is himself looking after the preparations and said that all things are in place for tomorrow�s event.
It is worth mentioning that famous personalities have received the Michael John Memorial Lecture Gold Medal award in the preceding years. It all began in 1985 when JRD Tata, former Chairman of Tata Sons received the inaugural award. Ratan Tata got the award in 1995, former Tata Steel MD JJ Irani in 1998, former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam got the award in 2002, B Muthuraman in 2003 followed by former Union minister Oscar Fernandes in 2007. The 2018 award went to President of INTUC Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy.
