MTMC Jamshedpur to Host First Graduation Ceremony on Monday

Jamshedpur: Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC), Jamshedpur, will host its first-ever graduation ceremony on Monday. The college will host the event at its Baridih campus on June 1, celebrating the inaugural batch of MBBS students who have completed their medical education.

The college will formally confer MBBS degrees upon 133 students from the 2020-21 academic session. These pioneer graduates will now officially begin their professional journeys as healthcare practitioners.

Jharkhand Governor Santosh Gangwar will be the Chief Guest at the event. Irfan Ansari (Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare, Government of Jharkhand) and Vijay Kumar (Senior Advisor to the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India) will also attend as Guests of Honour.

Senior leadership from Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), executives from Tata Steel Limited, distinguished academicians, faculty members, parents, and invited dignitaries will participate in the celebration.

MAHE and Tata Steel established MTMC in 2020 through a unique partnership. The institution has rapidly emerged as one of eastern India’s prominent hubs for medical education and healthcare training, currently enrolling more than 1,286 students across undergraduate medical programs, allied health sciences, and postgraduate studies.

As India’s first private-private partnership initiative in medical education, MTMC combines MAHE’s academic excellence with Tata Steel’s commitment to community development and healthcare advancement. The institution features modern infrastructure, advanced laboratories, state-of-the-art teaching facilities, and a dedicated faculty focused on producing skilled healthcare professionals.

The healthcare sector in Jharkhand views this graduation ceremony as a significant milestone, as the first batch of MTMC-trained doctors prepares to serve communities across the country.
