Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Jan 3: The MSME Defence Conclave–2026 will be held on January 16–17 at the Adityapur Auto Cluster, aiming to strengthen the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and connect local MSME industries with the defence sector. This was announced at a press conference by Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Manav Kedia.

The event is being organised jointly by SCCI, Adityapur Small Industries Association (ASIA) and the India Chamber of Commerce (nodal agency), with support from Small Industries Bharat and BEML. Defence Minister of State, Shri Sanjay Seth, will inaugurate the conclave, while retired Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha and senior defence officials will attend as special guests.

ASIA President Inder Agrawal said the conclave will create opportunities for MSMEs in Adityapur industrial area to manufacture products for the defence sector. While around 17,000 MSMEs across India are defence-linked, the participation from Jamshedpur and nearby regions remains limited. The conclave will guide local entrepreneurs on viable defence products, opening new avenues beyond the automobile and railway sectors for MSMEs across Kolhan and Jharkhand.

India Chamber of Commerce General Secretary Keka Sharma highlighted that similar initiatives have been conducted in states like West Bengal, Rajasthan, Odisha, Bihar and Chhattisgarh. The conclave will feature exhibitions, seminars and workshops, with experts from the Air Force, Navy and Army sharing insights on defence opportunities.

The event will include approximately 50 stalls, including 5–6 linked to the Defence Ministry. Key attractions include product exhibitions, B2B meetings and panel discussions on self-reliance, government policies and export potential. MSMEs will also be encouraged to participate in government schemes like iDEX and Make Projects to boost innovation and defence readiness.
