Ghatshila, Jan 28: Ghatshila police on Thursday morning recovered the body of a married woman hanging from a fan in their house at Dutta Residence at Kashida under Ghatshila thana area of East Singhbhum district.
The police team reached the spot and took out the body and sent the body for post mortem after taking statements of the deceased woman’s husband Bipin Trehan and their daughter.
Bipin Trehan in his statement before the police said that he has cloth business at Jamshedpur and he has no clue on the step taken by her wife in committing suicide. While the deceased woman’s daughter, Priya Trehan who is a 12th grader at BDSL Inter College in Ghatshila, said that her parents had fixed her marriage with Rakesh Dutta and she had taken phone of an employee of Dutta Residence to speak with her would-be husband which was objected by her mother.
In a fit of rage, her mother entered her room and closed the door from inside. After a while sensing danger she shouted for help and the neighbours came to the residence who broke open the door to find her mother hanging.
Ghatshila thana OC, Rajiv Ranjan said that they have lodged an unnatural death case so far and started investigation. Based on the post mortem report they would try to verify the reality of the case.
