Mother of four attempts suicide from Mango bridge

Jamshedpur: A mother of four children, Purnima Nayak, attempted suicide by jumping from the Mango bridge into Subarnarekha river on Thursday morning. She was saved from local from drowning in the river.

The woman sustained injuries and was rushed to the MGM Medical College and Hospital’s emergency for treatment.

A resident of adjoining Gaur Bustee in Mango, Purnema who was under trauma for over four hours was administered the necessary medicine at the medical college and hospital.

Assistant sub-inspector Suresh Kumar of Sakchi police station who was posted at the MGM Medical College and Hospital had taken a statement from the woman.

“It is a case of attempted suicide. She was bent upon to commit suicide. We are looking into it whether to book the woman for the suicide bid,” said the ASI adding that the any action will be taken only after she recovers from the illness.
