Jamshedpur, Oct 28: The district health department was on itys toes during Durgotsav. It had set up COVID test camps at near the Kharkai Bridge in Bistupur, near the Domohani Bridge in Sonari, near the Kadma toll Bridge, at the Dimna Chowk and Pardih Chowk on October 23, 24 and 25 daily between 5 pm and 5 am. In all 5, 772 persons wewre checked out of whom 115 were found positive.
However, it will notg be possible to ascertain how many people were infrcted during the festival for it takes approximately 72 hours to get the test results. The actual figures would be available on Wednesday, October 28.
The crowd this year was comparatively less than preceding years as people were keen on staying indoors most of the time to avoid getting infected by coronavirus. District Surveillance Officer Dr Sahir Pal stated that the lesser crowd would help in containing the spread of COVID-19 infection.
