Monsoon to knock in Jharkhand on 8th or 9th June: Met dept

Jamshedpur, May 20: The Jharkhand denizens will expectedly get relief from the fiery sun and its ensuing heat soon. Monsoon may knock in Jharkhand by June 8 or 9. This information was provided by Abhishek Anand, Director, Meteorological Department. He said that pre-monsoon rains have started in Jharkhand. Change is being seen in the weather in different parts of the state including the Capital. The change in weather conditions were being noted in almost all districts of Jharkhand. The past few days have have seen scorching weather conditions in the morning in Ranchi followed by light rain with strong wind and thunder in the evening  

According to information received from the Meteorological Department, the monsoon will enter Kerala on May 27 and then move towards Jharkhand where it is expected to enter the state on June 8 or 9. The highest temperature in Jharkhand was recorded in Daltonganj at 44 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 30 degrees Celsius in many districts.

For the next five days, the temperature was expected to drop by two to three degrees in Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Giridih, Godda, Jamtara, Pakur and Sahibganj while it was likely to increase or decrease by one or two degrees in Koderma, Chatra, Garhwa, Latehar, Lohardaga and Palamau. Bokaro, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla and East and West Singhbhum were likely to experience an increase of two or three degrees Celsius.
