Ranchi: Monsoon is currently active in Jharkhand. The weather has become pleasant due to the rain since Saturday evening. The temperature has dropped. It has been raining since this morning. There are dark clouds in the sky.
Ranchi-based Meteorological Department scientist Dr. Abhishek Anand has said that there will be heavy rain in the state till October 6. Yellow alert has been issued for some districts and orange alert for others. There are chances of heavy rain along with thunder and lightning in Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, and West Singhbhum.
It has been raining in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Sahibganj, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, and West Singhbhum for the last 24 hours. Heavy rain is forecast in Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum districts. Orange alert has been issued for these places. Rain with thunder is possible in Garhwa and Palamu. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm during this period. There is a possibility of rain with thunder in Chatra, Hazaribagh and Latehar districts also. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in Deoghar and Koderma.
The weather department says that the temperature may drop by three to four degrees Celsius in the next two days. There is a possibility of heavy rain on October 2. There will be light to moderate rainfall from October 3 to October 6. Farmers should avoid going to the fields during the alert period.
