‘Momentum Jharkhand’ a testimony to ease of business : Smriti

Foundation laid for 74 projects worth Rs 2100 cr at Gopal Maidan

Jamshedpur, Aug. 19: Providing the much needed fillip to the industrial growth of the state, Union Minister Smriti Irani and Chief Minister Raghubar
Das on Saturday jointly laid the foundation of 74 projects that began their journey during the ‘Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors Summit’ at Ranchi in February this year.

Das in the presence of the Union Information and Broadcasting and Textile Minister clicked the button to perform the second ground breaking ceremony
of the projects that have an estimated direct investment inflow of more than Rs 2100 crore and a potential of generating over 10,000 direct jobs. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Union Minister said the event is a testimony to ease of doing business here.

The industrial growth has received the right momentum and ‘Momentum Jharkhand’ initiative is going to leave global imprints. She added that the initiative of Jharkhand Government inviting industries for business has not only attracted companies from India but even global players are being tempted to invest here. “There was a time when industries were not willing to venture here. The able leadership of Raghubar Das has proved that the State has every potential to march ahead on the path of progress. The best part of the initiative is that the state government has succeeded to set up harmonious relationship with the industry and the community at large.

The second phase of ground breaking ceremony after the first in May also shows the speed of governance in the State,” said Irani, addressing a gathering of over 3,000 people.

“Industrialisation alone in not the only hallmark of development. The government here as accommodated and coordinated well also focuses the interests of agriculture, Digital India and employment generation which is commendable. The government’s intention is not only to bring investments but also to create job opportunities as is evident from a tiny textile unit in Ranchi which will employ 900 people. The government works when people are with them and I am glad that 3.25 crore people are walking hand in hand with the government here,” she said.

Irani further said, “The government here did not wait for investors to come and invest but struck a rapport and coordination with them proactively to complete the process,” Irani said stressing that no one can stop developmental juggernaut to roll when one makes up one’s mind and wavers not.” The Union Minister
