Jamshedpur, Jan. 21: A meeting was held at Azimabad Advertiser and News Center in Zakirnagar, Mango on the eve of completion bi-centenary of a local Urdu newspaper. The meeting was presided by the senior journalist and the bureau of chief of Urdu daily news paper Qaumit Tanzeem.
The chief guest on the occasion, Dr. S. S. Razi, principal of Jamshedpur Co-operative College, emphasized on the need to promote Urdu language. He said, “We have to publish more Urdu books and journals.”
The guest of honour and the principal of Karim City College Jamshedpur Dr Md .Zakaria described the Urdu language as a medium of “national integrity.”
The guest of honor and former M.L.A from Jamshedpur West, Hassan Rizwi said, “We should have Urdu news papers published from Jamshedpur.”
The guest of honor and social worker and prominent builder of Jamshedpur, Asif Mahmood said Urdu media always plays an important and vital role for the betterment of the society.
On this occasion Moffiduzzaman was conferred the “Ambassador of Peace” award. Mofiduzzaman is a social activist and has been associated with journalism.
Those present on the occasion included Prof. Rizwan Wasti, headmaster Rizwan Ahmad, Tata Steel Sports Dept. Hassan Imam Mallick , former DSP Arif Imam, social worker Faiyaz Ahmad Khan ,Youth Congress leader Tanveer Khan, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Minority Committee vice-president Md. Noor Ahmad , Aawami News bureau chief Sabiha Shakir, social worker Mukhtar Alam Khan, Jamshed Nasir ,Mohammad Shadab and Qari Shahnawaz Anwar.
