Jamshedpur: BJP state working committee member Manoj Kumar Singh said that the state and central governments were committed to ameliorate the obstacles in the construction of the Ranchi-Jamshedpur stretch of NH 33. This was the reason that the transport minister’s secretary and member of NHAI arrived at Jharkhand to inspect the road.

Today a team comprising NHAI officials, representatives of Madhucon company and officials of various banks inspected the Ranchi-Jamshedpur road to assess its current state of construction. Manoj Kumar Singh accompanied the team.

The transport ministry wants to pep up the construction work of this road for which it is considering a number of alternatives. One such alternative is that if the banks are disinclined towards providing further loans to Madhucon, then NHAI, in consonance with all parties concerned, would itself complete this project.

The transport ministry secretary and member of NHAI project held a discussion with Madhucon company representatives and officials of Canara Bank that has provided the maximum financial support to the project. He also held talks with officials of other banks and asked them to make their intents clear on the issue at the earliest.

At a high level meeting to be held on May 2, a final decision is expected to be taken on whether the work on the Ranchi-Jamshedpur stretch of NH 33 would continue as under present setup or would NHAI undertake the completion work.

Manoj Kumar Singh expressed the hope that the central and state governments would find a way out of the problems of land acquisition and finance and ensure completion of this project at the earliest.
