Jamshedpur: The inter-ministerial committee of the Telecom Commission is planning to install mobile towers in nine Naxalite-hit states including Jharkhand. Department officials said the committee is currently studying the issue.
The Union Cabinet has recently given nod to a proposal for installation of mobile towers in nine states following Naxalite violence in Bastar (Chhatisgarh) last year. As many as 27 people including a senior Congress leader had died in the attack.
