MNPS summer camp concludes

Jamshedpur, May 11: “A summer camp is an ideal platform for children and teenagers to learn with fun. The kids were encouraged to explore their unrealized potentials and to locate all the positives in their lives. It is not just big things that make us happy; children must learn to appreciate small joys and count their blessings,” were apt observations made by Motilal Nehru Public School (MNPS) Principal Ashu Tiwary prior to the conclusion of the summer camp for students between classes 3 and 9 organized at the institution.

The summer camp aimed at creating fun activities and enriching the students with new ideas while providing them a much needed break from routine academic schedules.

The camp activities included Zumba and other dance formats, music, art and craft and no fire cooking among others. The main point of focus on the camp activities was improving communication skills, which the school identified as a core area of growth and development. 

The concluding day’s excitement centred on ‘no fire cooking,’ where each team had to prepare a summer drink along with a sweet dish or savory snack. 

Students demonstrated a host of skills in the realms of proper hygiene, communication, leadership abilities, team spirit, creativity and innovation, negotiations and conflict resolution as most of these were identified in the NEP 2020. The participants were judged by teachers Bindu Ahuja and Jagjeet Saini.

The overall champion in the various competitive summer camp activities was the Amber Team that included Aditya Kumar,Shayansh, Alok, Ishant, Aniket, Akshat, Divyanshu Pati, Kafiya, Aaradhya, Adarsh, Anjali, Sanaya, Aariz, Aditi, Mubashir and Ayan. 

The list of the three top winners respectively of other events included Ghanim Hussain, Rishika Kumari and B Janvi (Public Speaking); Akansha Ghosh, Sravani and Disha (singing); Akshita Poddar, Aaradhya Kumari, Sagnik Barua and Akshat Kumar Singh (Face Painting) and Aarav Singh, Rishika, Ayati, Aaradhya and Ayesha Khan (Story Telling). The grand finale to the exciting and eye opening summer camp was the performance of the school choir.

The camp provided students a platform to exhibit their talents while spending fruitful times and discovering innovative ideas.  The MNPS management appreciated the faculty members for their wholehearted support towards the attainment of the camp’s objectives.
