MNAC sets the ball rolling to make Mango clean and beautiful

Civic Committees to be set up in the three wards to expedite cleanliness drive

Jamshedpur: Mango Notified Area Committee is going to set up civic committees in the three wards of Mango to make the area clean and beautiful. A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting convened by the special officer of MNAC Sanjay Kumar and the representatives of the three wards on Sunday.

Addressing the meeting, Kumar said there was an urgent need to set up the committees to chalk out plans and implement them to ensure cleanliness and beautification in the three wards of Mango. He said the youths of the three wards would be included in the committees to give them proper representation. The representatives of various age groups and communities would be included in the committees, he said.

Kumar further added, �The committees would create awareness among the people of their wards in a bid to bring about hehavioural changes in them and to make them aware of their duties which includes the duty to ensure cleanliness in their surroundings. We will also make sure that women get 50 per cent representation in these committees.�

The special officer said the committees would also keep an eye on the functioning and quality of work of various agencies hired by the MNAC for carrying out cleanliness in Mango. They would also submit their complaints and suggestions at the MNAC office from time to time, he said.
Kumar said a campaign to sprinkle bleaching powder had started in all the wards of Mango after recent flash floods and heavy rains. He said every locality should be covered under the drive.
