Jamshedpur: Potka MLA Sanjib Sardar conducted a surprise inspection at the block headquarters on Thursday, revealing widespread absenteeism among government officials. Arriving around 1 PM, he visited various offices and found several key officers missing, including BDO Arun Kumar Munda and the junior engineer of the drinking water department.
Amid rising summer temperatures and increasing water scarcity, the MLA first inspected the drinking water department office, where only a daily wage worker was present. The responsible officers were absent without prior notice. The situation was similar at the block office, where BDO Arun Kumar Munda was not in his office after 1 PM.
Expressing strong displeasure over this negligence, Sanjib Sardar immediately contacted East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal and directed strict action against the absent officials. He warned that government employees must take their responsibilities seriously, or they would face consequences.
During his visit to the zonal office, he found Zonal Officer Nikita Bala and other staff members present. He discussed various ongoing projects with them and provided necessary instructions.
Sardar stated that this was just the beginning, and such surprise inspections would continue in the future. His strict stance has generated support from local villagers, who praised him for exposing the reality of government offices. They expressed hope that such initiatives would lead to better governance and stricter action against negligent officials.
