MLA Purnima Sahu inaugurates cricket league JCPL 4.0, lauds sportsmanship

Jamshedpur: The two-day Jaycee Premier League (JCPL) 4.0, organized by JCI Jamshedpur Royals, was inaugurated with much enthusiasm at the Tube Makers Club. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Jamshedpur East MLA Purnima Sahu, who praised the initiative and highlighted the importance of sports in fostering unity, discipline, and teamwork among the youth and professionals.

Addressing players, organisers, and spectators, MLA Purnima Sahu lauded JCI Jamshedpur Royals for consistently promoting sporting culture in the city. She said that events like the Jaycee Premier League play a crucial role in strengthening team spirit, leadership qualities, and mutual coordination. Emphasizing the true spirit of sportsmanship, she remarked that winning or losing is secondary, while participation, learning, and bonding through sports are what truly matter.

The opening day of the tournament on Saturday witnessed a series of exciting and competitive matches featuring teams from various prominent organizations and associations of the city. In the first match, Marwari Yuva Manch (MYM) displayed a strong performance to defeat the Jamshedpur Dental Association.

The second match was played between DBMS Alumni and the Institute of Chartered Accountants, in which the DBMS Alumni team emerged victorious after an impressive display on the field.

In the third match, the Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry outplayed the Builders Association, securing a convincing win.

The fourth match saw the host team JCI Jamshedpur Royals register a win against Young Indians, much to the delight of the local supporters. In the fifth match of the day, Loyola Alumni defeated CICASA, Jamshedpur, adding to the competitive spirit of the league.

The league is being organized under the leadership of JC Vivek Agarwal, President, JCI Jamshedpur Royals, with the active support of JC Utsav Mittal, Secretary, JC Vishal Agarwal, Treasurer, and Tarakishore Agarwal, along with other members of the organization. Their collective efforts ensured the smooth conduct of the inaugural day’s matches and arrangements.

Adding a modern touch to the tournament, JCPL 4.0 is also being live-streamed on YouTube, enabling cricket enthusiasts to enjoy the matches remotely and increasing the reach of the event beyond the stadium.
