MLA lays foundation stone for Plus-2 High School building in Potka

Jamshedpur: A new milestone in the field of education was marked in Potka on Thursday as Potka MLA Sanjib  Sardar laid the foundation stone for the Plus-2 High School building in Sangram under Potka block. The ceremony, approved on the MLA’s recommendation, began with a traditional puja and saw enthusiastic participation from villagers, who welcomed the MLA with music and celebration.

The project, sanctioned by the Jharkhand Education Project Council, will involve the construction of a two-story school building with 10 classrooms at a cost of Rs 1.3 crore. The work is assigned to RKCPL Construction and is expected to be completed within 15 months.

Addressing the gathering, MLA Sanjib  Sardar said that while the previous BJP government had closed thousands of schools in the state, the Hemant Soren government is committed to strengthening public education and ensuring access to quality learning for every child. He announced that Potka will soon receive a CM School of Excellence, which will offer modern facilities and advanced academic support for local students.

He further added that for the first time in Potka’s history, six secondary schools are being upgraded to Plus-2 level. These include Secondary School Shankarda, Secondary School Domjuri, Secondary School Rajdoha, Secondary School Jahatu, Secondary School Jamdih and Secondary School Mangdu. This decision is expected to significantly improve educational opportunities for thousands of rural students.

Present on the occasion were Mukhiya Abhishek Sardar, PSS Binoti C, Headmistress Bibi Rani Munda, Teacher Anil Munda, Khagen Sardar, Block President Sudhir Soren, Jharkhand movement activist Sunil Mahato, Bablu Chaudhary, former Zilla Parishad member Chandravati Mahato, and Hitesh Bhagat.
